Oventus Medical Ltd. has obtained Medicare Coverage Approval for the Oventus Optima sleep apnea oral appliance which has the product name O2VENT OPTIMA, Model Number O2VB using the HCPCS E0486 Code! This is big news for the relatively new appliance to North America that obtained FDA clearance just a few months ago! Kudos!
Basically, the design of the O2VENT OPTIMA prevents the connector bands from becoming dislodged. It’s a factor of the Lug placement being unique to every patient. It would take a 90 degree opposing jaw movement to dislodge upper from lower. Of course, the O2VENT OPTIMA is also adjustable in 1mm increments.
